Spoonhour's senior season is underway with the 3-0 Longhorns and he is looking to build on an outstanding junior season. This past summer Spoonhour worked on his speed to gain an edge on defenders and others who play the position. With this season underway he has stepped up in a stronger leadership role and worked to help his team come together as a single unit with one common goal. This season Spoonhour has a strong goal in mind- to become an impact player as a starter. He has dedicated all his hard work to his mother who passed away after his junior season in a drunken driving accident. It is this that is driving Spoonhour to do anything he can to play at the next level.
As a team the Longhorns are determined to make it to the playoffs, and with a hot start at 3-0 they want to keep their streak going.
Spoonhour loves the intensity of the game and playing under the lights is what drives the excitement of playing football. Outside of school he enjoys playing Madden with his brothers, who all have played football and are very competitive.
Robert has been in contact with some schools and has the drive to play at the next level. He has had some contact with NC State and enjoys watching the Oregon Ducks and NC State, which are two of his favorite schools.
